Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

APRA is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Cybersecurity Operations team. In this role you will scan APRA’s internal environment for threats and react quickly to potential cyber security incidents to ensure APRA’s information, assets and infrastructure are protected.

The team

The role is part of the Cybersecurity operations team and sits with the Technology and Data division. The Technology and Data Division supports APRA with frameworks, technology and systems that support APRA’s data and technology operations and its mandate to help protect the Australian community through data enabled decision making. 

Key responsibilities

  • Ability to lead threat hunting activity, cyber incidents, Incident response and investigations end-to-end
  • Apply a risk-based approach to solving issues
  • Provide technical advice to key stakeholders
  • Perform research on current threats and industry trends with a focus on the identification of opportunities to improve APRA’s security posture.
  • Review and improve cyber-playbooks to always reflect ISM and operational best practice
  • Use information gathered from vulnerability management, penetration tests, threat hunting and purple team activity to reduce cybersecurity risk
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of security administration for projects
  • Promote cross-skilling, knowledge sharing and communication initiatives within the team
  • Role may involve contribution to ensuring an effective 24-hour incident response capability
  • Demonstrate and promote the principles of workplace diversity.

About you

  • Working knowledge of PSPF, ISM, E8, and CPS234
  • Senior level experience in a SOC or security related experience
  • Have an ‘always learning, always improving’ mindset
  • Experience with; Purview, 365/Azure and Logrhythm
  • Experience with Vulnerability management
  • Experience with Threat hunting
  • Experience with Cyber threat intelligence platforms
  • Experience with CORIE, TIBER frameworks desirable
  • Certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, CASP+ are an advantage
  • Tertiary qualifications in cybersecurity or security engineering disciplines are an advantage
  • Memberships in AISA, ISACA, ISC2, or similar are an advantage.

To work with us, you need to be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain an NV1 Security clearance.
