The role
The Senior Analyst will be involved in the collection and collation of information from APRA regulated and non-regulated institutions, while ensuring internal and external stakeholders have access to accurate and up to date data.
The team
Data Collection Management (DCM) sits within the Data Collection Design and Management team, and part of the Chief Data Office function.
The DCM team is responsible for ensuring financial institutions meet their reporting obligations on-time by:
- Developing an in-depth understanding of the Financial Sector (Collection of Data) Act 2001 to ensure APRA’s obligations under the Act are met
- Providing efficient and effective enforcement of the Act, using the least use of effort and legislative power that result in high levels of compliance
- Determining appropriate methods for ensuring data quality is fit for purpose
- Contributing to the development of actions to effectively monitor and mitigate issues identified
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with other divisions of APRA, including frontline supervisors and risk specialists
- Ensuring industry data is protected in accordance with the secrecy provisions of the APRA Act 1998.
Key responsibilities
- Work with a broad range of users of APRA’s data to ensure the data meets the required standards of data quality
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of APRA’s transparency with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to APRA’s data transformation program
- Provide accurate advice on both technical and reporting queries and issues
- Maintain contact with APRA’s supervisory teams and financial institutions to ensure contact details are kept up-to-date and financial institutions are assigned the relevant reporting forms based on the reporting requirements
- Effectively manage your time, effectively prioritizing day-to-day and ad-hoc tasks.
About you
- Customer support: Ability to work with a variety of institutions with varying level of technical capabilities to ensure that data is provided to APRA and reporting issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Service level management: Ensuring that both the industries and APRA commitments are meet in a timely manner. Following up with late reporters
- Effective communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging various stakeholders both internally and externally
- Troubleshooting: Working with the industry and subject matter experts to resolve reporting issues.
- Legislative Interpretation: Understanding and interpreting reporting standards and legislative requirements
- Reporting and analysis: deliver high-quality reports and analysis, recommend appropriate decisions on issues affecting the reporting and quality of data provided by the reporting institutions.
To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
