The role
As the Business Manager, you will manage the business operations and the business plan execution for your division. You will report directly to the division’s Executive Director and work closely with the Leadership Team to manage the division. You will partner with peers and relevant stakeholders across APRA to improve practices and deliver strategic and business outcomes, change initiatives, Financial management, governance and reporting, activities and key projects aligned with APRA’s strategy.
Key responsibilities
Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the division’s strategic goals and business plan;
Manage the division’s finances, including tracking of actual to budget;
Coordinate with the division to manage the risk profile, compliance obligations and risk appetite statements;
Assist in the identification of emerging risks and issues, and escalate as required;
Coordinate Executive and divisional cadences and rhythms including leadership team meetings, divisional offsites, Town Halls and drive divisional communication initiatives;
Manage communications and papers with the management committee and the board;
Develop and track metrics to ensure the effective operational performance of the division;
Build relationships with other divisional Business Managers to achieve our strategic objectives; and
Coordinate with the Executive Director and Leadership team to plan and execute divisional initiatives.
About you
Strong financial sector, or similar experience with a focus on enabling change, risk management and strategic delivery;
A team player, who excels at leading through influence, with strong stakeholder management skills;
An effective organiser, problem-solver and communicator;
A forward planner with the ability to derive key insights from business reporting while recognising emerging opportunities;
Able to lead and contribute to an innovative and agile operating division with a strong commitment to deliver APRA’s Corporate Plan; and
Professional qualifications in relevant field or equivalent experience.
To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
